We often talk about our Partnership for Life promise. It’s something we’re entirely passionate about and it informs each decision we make. It’s about teaming with our residents at every stage of the retirement journey to ensure that this chapter of their lives is happy and fulfilling, and it guarantees that we always act in their best interests. This promise is rooted in four pillars that form the cornerstone of our business. Here’s a closer look at each of them.
Ensuring the safety of our residents and providing them with a secure lock-up-and-go lifestyle forms a crucial part of our Partnership for Life promise, and we’ve spent a considerable amount of time making sure that our security is world class. Each Evergreen village has perimeter walls, electric fencing and CCTV cameras, and our state-of-the-art security control rooms are manned and monitored 24 hours a day. In addition to these measures, there are regular around-the-clock foot and bicycle patrols, and all houses and apartments are fitted with telecare units, ensuring 24-hour emergency medical assistance. Regular external safety and security audits are carried out by independent consultants to identify where and when upgrades and improvements are required.
Financial peace of mind
The Evergreen Life Right model forms the foundation of this important pillar and is an investment in a secure, stress-free and fully supported retirement lifestyle. - Guarantees the resident and their partner or spouse occupation for life – the agreement is protected by the Housing Development Schemes for Retired Persons Act No. 65 of 1988.
- Can be tailored to suit their financial circumstances thanks to our flexible pricing solution – if they purchase an Evergreen home or apartment below the list price, we will adjust the percentage of capital returned to their estate on secession of the contract accordingly.
- Does not attract any transfer duty, VAT and registration fee.
There are also no special levies in an Evergreen Life Right development as the developer carries all the costs associated with the upkeep of the village. And, because the law stipulates that the first two years’ levies must be declared, residents know exactly what costs to expect upfront. Finally, if they find themselves facing a financial crisis at any point during their retirement, a portion of the capital can be released back to them to fund levies and Care Centre costs – the capital due to their estate will then be adjusted accordingly.
Our villages offer a range of healthcare solutions designed with the challenges and needs of aging in mind. High-quality healthcare is delivered by experienced registered nurses and therapists at our on-site Care Centres. We also offer monthly clinics and regular health checks, occupational therapy, state-of-the-art, 24-hour medical emergency assistance in all homes, and recuperative care, frail care and palliative care.
