Celebrating our nurses
While nurses around the world deserve recognition throughout the year for the lifesaving work they do, there is a particular day set aside to honour them – International Nurses Day, which falls on 12 May, the birthdate of Florence Nightingale. In 2020, this day has particular significance for all of us as the world grapples with the COVID-19 pandemic, and nurses and other healthcare professionals work on the frontline in the fight against this disease.
“Nurses are the heart of healthcare.” – Donna Wilk Cardillo
At Evergreen Lifestyle, our Evergreen Health nurses are an invaluable part of our team, providing high-quality healthcare and medical services to our residents, and working tirelessly throughout this challenging time. We salute and thank them, as well as all nurses around the world, for their selfless service.
While this pandemic has been a stressful and worrying time for all of us, it’s undoubtedly taken the heaviest physical and emotional toll on healthcare workers. If you have a family member or friend who is a healthcare worker, or perhaps have a carer yourself, make an effort to reach out to them today – and in the future – to check in, find out how they’re doing, encourage them and thank them. In the words of the World Health Organization, they are our Health Heroes.
“Nurses dispense comfort, compassion, and caring without even a prescription.” – Val Saintsbury
At Evergreen, we say #ShavefortheBrave
This campaign is a sincere effort on the part of Evergreen Lifestyle, supported by Amdec Group and its staff, to show solidarity with frontline workers and their families, who risk their lives so that we can stay safe. When the lockdown ends, their service and bravery will continue as the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic carries on. We #ShavefortheBrave to thank all medical and emergency service workers, pharmacists, scientists, farmers, logistics and retail staff, as well as the police service and military. We salute their service and bravery during this difficult time. Visit our Facebook page to see how you can get involved with #ShavefortheBrave.
